New Jersey Stop at Crosswalks Law
Starting April 1, 2010, motorists are now required to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, instead of merely yielding, as under the old law.
NJ DOT has prepared materials explaining the new law – thanks to Ranjit Walia of the Voorhees Transportation Center at Rutgers for developing this explanation, which was presented at the March 2010 meeting of the New Jersey Safe Routes to School Coalition.
