What a lovely holiday gift: West Windsor council on Monday awarded contracts totaling nearly $784,000 for three biking and walking projects.
They are:
- $231,224.87 to fill in sidewalk gaps on the south side of Alexander Road between Roszel Road and Bear Brook Road. Almost all — $222,000 — is funded by a state grant.
- $272,664.70 for a multiuse path on the north side of Conover Road from where an existing sidewalk ends west of Ginnie Lane to South Post Road, where it will connect to the multiuse path on the west side of South Post Road. This project is entirely funded by a state grant.
- $279,925.00 for a bikeway on the west side of North Post Road between Woodhollow Road and Village Road West. It will connect across Village Road West to the South Post path. This project is being funded through another state grant.

The WWBPA is excited to see these projects come to fruition in 2026. They will greatly improve walking, running and biking on the southern end of town as well as along a busy portion of Alexander Road.
We’d also like to thank Mercer County for the paved path from the new Millstone Road bridge to the Lower Millstone Trail, pictured at the top toward the end of construction. Take a walk in the woods and explore the beautiful Millstone trails, plus enjoy the beauty of the Millstone River from the bridge. The trails are in great shape thanks for our volunteer maintenance crew.
