Thank you to Glenn and Benety, our Community Service Award winners

The West Windsor Bicycle and Pedestrian Alliance honors two members of the community for the countless hours they have volunteered to keep West Windsor’s trails clear.

Glenn Foster and Benety Goh are the stalwarts of WWBPA board member Henry Murphy’s volunteer trail maintenance crew. All told, the group put in 101 hours clearing the town’s seven miles of trails in 2024, after 159 hours in 2023, when the trails were in much rougher shape.

Glenn has been maintaining trails on his own time for decades, helping as a Troop 40 parent when his sons were Boy Scouts. He’s now a grandfather.

Benety is well-known around town for his commitment to open space and the environment, having served on the board of the Friends of West Windsor Open Space for several years.

Both were presented with our Community Service Award at the annual meeting on March 13. Thank you, both!

Henry says: Both men are rugged doers, cheerful and pleasant to work with, under conditions that many others might find difficult:  8’ x 8’ patches of multiflora with vicious thorns; downed trees up to 18” in diameter; snow, rain, and scorching sun. With their effort over the last two years, the town’s trails have been renewed.

The WWBPA takes on this task because we recognize that the Department of Public Works can’t do it all. If you would like to hear more about Henry’s trail-maintenance efforts and when work is planned, email us at [email protected].
