Speaking up pays off: A safer Sherbrooke/571 crossing

A second set of those pedestrian-activated flashing lights (known as rectangular rapid-flashing beacons, or RRFBs) has been added to the intersection of Princeton Hightstown Road/County Road 571 and Sherbrooke Drive.

That has made those seeking to cross this main road more visible to motorists. We’ve already heard from one WWBPA member that drivers are indeed stopping more frequently.

This project came about because another WWBPA member spoke about a scary experience crossing the road during the public comment portion of a council meeting.

The West Windsor Bicycle and Pedestrian Alliance thanks West Windsor and Mercer County for working together to make this improvement happen.
