A new place to walk in Plainsboro

Plainsboro has just opened the Bulk Farm Nature Center, an 80-acre parcel on Cranbury Neck Road between Grovers Mill Road and Pollack Court (just before Nostrand Road). This former nursery has numerous trails stretching back toward the Millstone River on its southern border. You’ll find a trail map at the park kiosk and here.

A section of the park closes from Jan. 1 through July because of a bald eagle’s nest.

Unfortunately you can’t walk to Bulk Farm (no sidewalks!) and there’s no bike lane for those who want to cycle. No bike rack, at least not yet, and bikes aren’t allowed on the trails. But we found a spot to lock our bikes.

You may still catch some brilliant fall colors or spot a monarch that hasn’t yet migrated south. Maybe the pair of eagles too? Here are more photos of what we found on a recent visit:

We’ve previously shared information about the trails in Mercer County Park as well as the Trolley Line Trailthe Lawrence Hopewell Trailthe Union Transportation Trailthe section of the D&R Canal along the Delaware River and the Woosamonsa Ridge Preserve in Pennington.
