How to get a bike locker at the Princeton Junction train station

A bike locker at the Princeton Junction train station is a great deal — and this is a rare time when there isn’t a waiting list. Well, until all of you start calling.

Rentals are handled by Greater Mercer Transportation Management Association, which offers six- and 12-month rentals. Cost is $7.50 a month plus a $50 deposit for the key that only you have (GMTMA has a spare). So much better than paying $6 a day ($45 per month with a resident permit) for a parking spot for your car!

To get a locker, call GMTMA at 609-452-1491 x224.

What do the lockers look like?

You’ve probably seen those long grayish plastic containers on both sides of the tracks. They generally are divided into 10 lockers, five on each side. Each space for a bike is triangular, so you’ll probably be backing your bike in and possibly turning the front wheel to get yours in.

The 86 lockers at the station were purchased by New Jersey Transit, and the WWBPA was instrumental in getting about 18 more of them (plus many extra bike racks) about a decade ago.
